A Tanatan Culinary Journey

Pre Ramadan, we were invited to Tanatan Indian Restaurant in Ramee Grand Hotel and Spa, Seef to experience their Friday Brunch, and we’re still thinking about that brunch a week later.

Tanatan is a dining experience celebrating India. The deco is traditional woodwork and beautiful Indian motifs decorate the walls.

By day it is an open, bright and spacious place to sit into the late afternoon with good friends and great food.  By night, it becomes an intimate and cozy, romantic space to dine with your special person.

The dining options are a set brunch and ala carte; salads, starters, mains courses and desserts. There are vegetarian and non vegetarian options catering to everyone’s personal preferences.

We started with Fried Prawns, Paneer Tikka and Palak Kabab, followed by a wide variety of mains, from Dal Makhani, Salli Boti, Fish Curry, Palak Paneer and Daal.

Stand out dishes for us were the Butter Chicken and Fish curry, paired with the fresh, hot buttery, crispy naan, it was a match made in heaven.

Desserts were a selection of cakes and pastries, a surprising but refreshing choice to not serve the usual Indian desserts you would expect.

The cherry on the cake throughout the Brunch was the live entertainment, with beautiful Bollywood romantic hits sung by the talented Geeth Mehboob.

All in all, a Friday well spent with good company, amazing food and a nostalgic Bollywood sing along.
