Budaiya Farmers Market: A Weekend Adventure

Last Saturday, we decided to check out the Budaiya Farmers Market, a weekly event open from 7 am to 2 pm. Upon arrival, we parked our car in the designated area and hopped on a bus that took us straight to the market.

The market was spaced over a large area and well-organized, with different sections catering to various interests. On the left side, we found the food zone, where we kicked off our day with delicious Arabic samosas and fresh mango juice for breakfast. It was a great way to start the day on a tasty note!

Moving on, we explored the farmers’ market section. There’s plenty of fresh Arabic produce. From crisp green leafy vegetables such as kale, mint and basil to cauliflowers and pumpkins, the different kinds of offerings were impressive. It was heartening to see so many people all out and about, eager to purchase fresh produce at affordable prices.

As we continued our journey through the market, we stumbled upon stalls selling beautiful plants with colorful flowers, as well as jars of fresh honey that we couldn’t resist sampling. Additionally, there was a section dedicated to handmade woodworks, pottery, and intricately woven clothing, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Bahrain.

Further along, we were delighted to stumble upon a live comedy show that had everyone, especially the kids, thoroughly entertained. It was a delightful break from our exploration of the market.

To top it all off, the market provided a charming picnic area where families could gather, unwind, and enjoy the view while relishing their purchases from the market.
