Designer on the rise Muna Saad

MUNA SAAD is a newly launched demi-couture brand based out of Doha, Qatar. Pulling inspiration from Middle Eastern culture while designing for the global modern woman. The pieces are a stylist’s dream come true for them being versatile and timeless. We’ve sat with Muna Saad, the creative behind the brand to know more about her background as a designer and what inspired her to create the brand and especially her latest collection.

Tell us something about your background, As a little girl, what inspired you to become the designer you are today?

When I was a little girl I was obsessed with clothing and styling and colors and was always watching music videos and group bands and was obsessed with their outfits and was always trying to recreate them. I love cloths and living in France for 5 years during my studies grew this obsession in me about fashion and how I can create my own pieces.

Who is the Muna Saad woman?  Who do you design for?

I design for women who are in love with art, colours, unique cuts and who has a strong personality and love to be unique and stand out with her style.

What is your favorite part in the designing process?

The best part is the first steps of the inspirations, colors palette creation and mood-board fabrics as its’ a storm of beautiful ideas in my head that I am always excited to create in real life collection.

How do you stay updated with the trends in the fashion industry?

The best part for me are fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle , Marie Clair etc… , checking the fashion shows in the different countries and doing my own researches about the trends on apps like Instagram and Pinterest.

How do you adapt these trends to your clients within the MENA region?

I always try to adapt through adding the colors and cuts that suits our women preferences. I try to use the suitable fabrics that support our weather type and of-course our region standards.

Do you have any advice for anyone who aspires to be a fashion designer?

Work on yourself, try to take as maximum courses and workshops that could help in understanding the fashion technicalities and market. Always ask for advises and help as its very important before starting but believe in your self and go for it if you love it truly.
