Owned by the Alireza family, this centre is a unique blend of Islamic and European architecture. Entering the property, you are greeted by the sharp lines and angles of the preserved original Bahraini design. As you venture further, you are transported to what feels like an authentic European Chateau. There is truly nothing like it of this size and magnitude in the Middle East.

If you’re looking to step foot into this magical hideaway, their restaurants hosts a monthly movie night (dinner included) for BD 11.6 per person. The film chosen for June was a comedic Italian drama, ‘Mid-August Lunch’. We were served a set menu consisting of a tangy Summer Mixed Salad, a choice between Roman Styled Chicken or Spaghetti with Pesto, and homemade Lemon Sorbet for dessert.
The candlelit tables, authentic European cuisine, and rustic yet classy interior built a romantic ambience, perfect for date night. Additionally, I must commend their level of hospitality, the servers were attentive yet not overbearing, and they were all quite knowledgable about La Fontaine’s history and eager to make your experience an unforgettable one.
A great deal of love and care has been put into restoring this family home, transforming it into the epitome of Arab and European sophistication. Stepping into La Fontaine is truly an immersive experience like no other, and we highly recommend paying a visit. Whether you’re an art/film connoisseur, looking for a pilates studio, or perhaps searching for a memorable wedding venue, this contemporary cultural hub should definitely be on your Bahrain bucket list.
