Neom Line: Scaling Down Amid Financial Challenges

The Neom project in Saudi Arabia, which initially aimed to revolutionize urban development with its unique  “The Line” concept, is currently undergoing significant changes.

Recent reports suggest that the project is being scaled back substantially.
Originally planned to stretch over 170 kilometres, “The Line” now has been reduced to a mere 2.4 kilometers and designed to accommodate fewer than 30,000 residents.

These changes come as the Saudi government faces financial challenges, prompting a reevaluation of its large-scale initiatives such as Neom. Originally envisioned as a $500 billion project focused on creating a city powered by renewable energy, Neom’s revised scope reflects the need to adapt to economic constraints and adjust its original ambitious plans.
