Recapping the Marassi al Bahrain Food Festival 2024

As the Marassi al Bahrain Food Festival wrapped up its final day on February 27th, 2024, we found ourselves reflecting on the amazing food adventure we had experienced. Situated by the stunning Marassi beach, the festival grounds were beautifully decorated.
There were plenty of food stalls offering a wide variety of dishes, with many people crowding around, eager to try the different foods.
From start to finish, we had a tough time deciding which restaurants to try. Here’s a rundown of the places we visited and our thoughts:

  • Red Barn – Chicago Deep Dish Pizza: The sauce had amazing flavors that we couldn’t get enough of.
  • Midyeci Ahmet – Their oysters were incredibly fresh, and the rice inside was like a warm hug. It was truly amazing.
  • Gyoza – Japanese Fries: The toppings offered a unique Japanese/fast-food fusion, but the fries themselves were underwhelming. It was a novelty dish, but the excitement faded once the toppings were gone. The fries had few pieces of shrimps, crabsticks, scallions and some special sauces on top.
  • Dona’s Wonders – Chocolate Strawberry: Lived up to the hype. It was sweet and delicious. They had other topping flavors as well, such as brookies, marshmallows, cheesecake etc. Burt we went with the classic.
  • Mast Mahol – Gol Gappe: Added an Indian twist to our day. Tasted sweet and flavorful like a classic pani puri.
  • Potato Tower – Classic Potato Twist: Unfortunately, it didn’t meet our expectations. It was quite hard to bite into and uncomfortable to eat.
  • Freshly Squeezed Sugar Cane Juice: It was just the right amount of sweet and refreshing.

Overall, we had a great time at the food festival. As we left with our hearts and stomachs full and our wallets empty, we couldn’t help but feel grateful for the experience. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
