Sangam: Restaurant Review

Sangam, located in Al Aali Mall in Seef, is an Indian restaurant offering a blend of traditional flavors and modern ambiance. The interior décor is visually appealing, with a straightforward menu featuring limited options.

The menu at Sangam is simple, featuring a selection of classic Indian dishes with a set menu for starters. We opted for their featured specials: Chicken Changezi and Lamb Biryani.

The Chicken Changezi, a creamy curry dish, chicken pieces cooked in a rich, flavorful gravy. While the dish tasted good, it lacked the authentic spices and depth of flavor found in traditional Indian cuisine which was disappointing.

Similarly, the Lamb Biryani, a rice dish with tender lamb pieces, was enjoyable but fell short of delivering an authentic Indian biryani experience. The rice was well-cooked and aromatic, infused with spices, but the portion of lamb pieces in the rice was limited.

For starters, the set menu had samosas, beef puffs, and various other condiments such as aachar, green chutney, raita, and papad. While the beef puffs and condiments were satisfactory, the samosas did not hit the mark. Additionally, the lassis, rose and mango flavors, failed to impress, missing the mark in terms of taste and consistency  .

The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the kulfi, a traditional Indian frozen dessert. We ordered two flavors (yes, the kulfi is the in set menu as well) saffron and classic. Our favorite was definitely the classic.

While the ambiance and service are commendable, the food falls short of delivering the authentic flavors expected at its price point.
